Nokia Propagate - Facebook App
This Facebook app, developed for Nokia was built with the purpose of allowing a selected group of users to register to receive a free trial of their new phone, the Lumia 800, running Microsoft Windows Phone 7 OS.
Originally, the project was scoped (and built) to allow AJAX uploading of video files, which where then pushed asynchronously to YouTube, however this featured was removed shortly before the launch.
The project uses the Facebook API to request and store the users Email address for notifications on the status of their application and some nice jQuery animation effects and UI elements to aid in giving the app the same feel as the Windows Phone 7 UI.

Landrover Compliance - April Fools
Yep, I was the developer behind the April fools prank that Landrover played on the masses. Although this was a simple HTML build project, the idea behind it was great.
For April Fools 2011, Landrover seeded news that the EU was soon to implement a new piece of legislation stating that all tax discs must be kept perfectly level to avoid RSI in the necks of traffic wardens and parking attendants. To counter, they not only conceptulised but actually produced a 'self levelling tax disc holder'. This fancy piece of kit worked in such a way that it ensured your car tax disc was always kept perfectly level.
The spoof site, designed and built by Wunderman also featured a video of the press conference discussing the 'product' at the landrover HQ!

KA Style Facebook App
The purpose of this project was primarily as a Facebook competition. Users can apply for the competition by uploading a photo or video of themselves, along with some text explaining their style. They then share their entry on Facebook and get their friends to vote for them.
An Adobe Air application was also developed in order to allow users to enter the competition with a video entry at one of the Ford exhibitions across UK shopping centres throughout the final quarter of 2010.
The development, planning and management of the project was undertaken by myself, with the Air application being developed by freelance Flash developer Chris O'Byrne
This project was built in PHP with a mySQL database. I made extensive use of the Facebook API in order to fetch user data and push data into their news streams when they shared entries. This project made extensive use of the YouTube, Twitter, Bit.ly and Flickr APIs.

AMD Blogs
AMD required a kitted-out Wordpress solution to provide a simple way of presenting their many different blogs to their audience. The completed article os a fully functioning Wordpress 3.0 site with some bespoke PHP plugins and a custom theme.
When I undertook this project, I had never worked with Wordpress in any depth so after spending a few days examining the structure and methodology behind how it was working, I was confident enough to get started.
There is also some integration with the Facebook and Twitter API used in this project for sharing posts via social media.

Santander F1 2010
The Santander F1 site was a high profile, tight deadline project. It has many features including custom gallery creation, revolving around photos and video, a sophisticated tagging system for use by the interactive search facility, Facebook, Twitter and Google Sites API integration and complete internationalisation.
The application is primarily available in 3 languages, using geo-location to identify the users country and assigning a language based on that information. The user can change this if required by using the languages drop down. All content is fully content managed with all content pulled from the database based on the users locale.

One of the more complicated aspects of this project is the unique product code system as a product (i.e. a chair), is available in a multitude of frame colours and an equal multitude of seat colours, each combination with a different image (switchable on the product view page with jQuery) and a different product code as well as different stock levels.

Internet Assist Re-design
My previous company decided to have a website makeover. With the excellent aid of one of the designers, the design pictured to the left was created. The site is very striking and has many small user touches such as accordion boxes and a very nice jQuery gallery.
It incorporates a sliding "menu" at the bottom allowing the user to scroll the existing projects and select one to view. There is a transparent PNG overlayed over the main image that will slide up on mouseover to display the projects information.
The pagination at the top of the main image makes uses of jQuery functions' callbacks to fade out the existing image, load the next image of that project and then fade it back in again.
